Poll Question
I am torn between two really nice Seated Liberty w/motto Half Dollars. Both have their positive aspects with little to no negatives. The 1873 No Arrows Closed 3 is a real beauty. However the 1877-CC is no slouch itself, it's a Type 2, medium CC, Repunched 77 formerly known as the WB-104 (now WB-11?). If I were to flip a coin between these two, it would land on its edge! I am seeking opinions as to which one to add to my PCGS slabbed 7070 collection. Thank you for your interest!

What's the rest of the collection look like? I'd probably go with the '77-CC, the '73 looks dipped and retoned.

I agree, this would be a very hard decision. With coins likes these I like to come back the next day, and when I give the coins the second day look, I try to see what I don't like about the coins. I always see what I like about them on the first look.
I went with the 1873. I feel in hand this coin will show a lot of luster. Also I think the details are a little better on the 73. Liberty's hair seems to have be just a little more sharp, overall might be a better strike.
Still I would be happy having either of these coins.

A little more detail on these two; both are problem free PCGS coins, the 77-CC is graded at....no, I am going to hold off on the grades until tomorrow, although they are both real close.

I did not mean details ..like something is wrong ...maybe I should have used the phase more full strike ....but they are both very close I agree.
I was just trying to see if there was anything better over the other.
When I posted details .. I was looking at the hair on liberty, to me I was seeing a slight amount more of hair details on he 73.
Now that I know that they are in slabs, I would have to look again .. For me it is hard to take good pictures ...even harder when they are in slabs. So ....back to ...not sure how I would choose.

Its split 50% 50%. Is that a die clash-a-ma-jig on the 1873 obv?

Yep, between the bottom of the rock and the top of the date. It's a clash of the top of the motto ribbon.

I figured that you meant GR58, actual detail of the coin, not the " details" moniker that TPG companies put on their "problematic" coins.

1877-CC PCGS XF45
Looks like that I am not the only torn between two lovely ladies.
I am working on the CC with the seller who is at Philadelphia for the show. Besides, I don't have a CC Half Dollar...yet.

I'm with baseball all the way. It's not even close by my taste. The light circulation adds even more to the CC mystique, but that's just me.

Wow, this would be a tough decision for me. I think I would have to go with, no wait a minute, the CC.

I picked the 1873 based on eye appeal alone.
