Your lo$$ is our gain . I tend to like it - my uneducated guess would be MS 63.

Interesting. This one has the die cracks of VAM-5 - somewhere between 5A and 5B - but apparently none of the other pickups.

I haven't taken a close look at it for VAMing yet, will do that now since I've got nothing better to do. I did take a closer look at that '78-S I posted and concluded on a VAM for that one, though. EDIT: This most closely fits the now defunct VAM 7.

MS63+ this one isn't far from a MS64, just a touch too many marks on the cheek.

Back to work already. Delayed honeymoon to save money, we're going to Italy sometime in the spring.

I think it makes 64 with some ease, here's a quick cell shot that doesn't magnify the problems....

The second picture does appear to suggest ms64 but the magnified picture shows way to many surface marks to quality it for ms64 not that it really matters 63 or 64 both are pretty common. Carson City Morgans are my favorites thats for sure.

Carson City Morgans are my favorites thats for sure. You have to remember that is larger than life size. If I blow that image up on my 13" Macbook and hold the coin next to it, it's something like 20x larger than the real coin. We'll see when it gets sent in. Probably won't be until near Christmas, but I'm confident this sucker is a 64.

That second picture says MS 64 to me. This is why I am awful at grading Morgans. Very nice coin - I still stand by that statement
