I have some coins my father left me after his moving on to a brighter place. This one is a walking Liberty dated 1944. Dad was a coin collector so he always kept his coins in plastics/sheets/etc. This one DOES have tape residue on it. If anyone can with with the grading of this one I would appreciate or any recommendations!

Thanks!

RJene

This one would be in the VF range.

Also, welcome to CCF. There are sites with examples of Walking Liberty halves for grading. Photograde by PCGS is one and thecoinspot as well. Those sites have photos of coins in each grade.

Thank you! I will click the links. Don't you have to be a member of PCGS in order to have a true grading done? Costly? Thanks again!

There is a free link to Photograding on their site. To have a grading done yes you need to be a member or find a member dealer and pay around to $50 when postage is taken into account. You would only have high value coins graded (if any). Many here like raw coins over graded ones.

Thanks for the tip. I am all over the place right now looking and learning and any help...really is appreciated. Had to place camera battery on charger to take pics of other coins. I may have to wait until tomorrow for better lighting.

Make sure they are in safe, non-plasticized holders for the long term.
