hi everyone, I am looking for a new series to do. Since this is not my only series, my budget permits me to spend at most $10 on the common dates and $100 on a few key dates. This is posted in classic coins but I am open to modern coins. Below is a list of series I am already doing or have finished. I am also open to short sets (I am considering a short set of WLHs) Jefferson nickels Mercury dimes Liberty nickelsBasic type set Ike dollars

A Buffalo nickel set would be a nice bridge between your liberty and jefferson set. Its always hard suggesting what sets someone else should do since we all like different things. In general though for budget conscious sets I'm a big fan of starting with date sets. You can always expand it to a full set later on if you choose and it lets you get a nice set of something avoiding the real budget busters.

Do Canadian cents. There is one key date (1858) and 4 harder dates (1922-1925). The 1858 can be found for under $100, and you should be able to get VG examples of all four 20s dates for under $100 (this gets you all four, it's not the unit price) as well. Plus, in the U.S., you should be able to find some unappreciated bargains.

You would do better with Mercury dimes then WLH's. With the price of silver where it is even very low grade WLH's would be $10. I have seen many good looking dimes for less.

You will have a hard time doing Franklin halves if you can't spend over $10. Current melt is around $8.50.

This was going to be a set I will do on the side. I was thinking a set of Washington quarters would be pretty easy.

Washington quarters are a huge set with all the state and America the beautiful coins if you are going for all mints and metal composition.

I am already doing a date set of the ATB Quarters. I was only going to do circulation issues from 1932-1964. Afterwards I might try a deluxe set of State Quarters.

The 'traditional' short set of Walkers spans the years 1941 to 1947. May I suggest a short set from 1916 to 1920? There was a redesign after 1921 (1921 = too expensive) and the obverse and reverse mint marks offers a lot of interest. Not so easy, but in decent low grades it might suit you. Or even just limit it to 1916 and 1917. Several different mint marks. My short consists of four coins: the three 21s and the 38-d. Not too shabby.
