I regularly buy silver for below spot on ebay. Bid 5% below spot and win a few times each week, sometimes get no competition and get 20 to 50% below spot. But most of it is junk .500 and .925 silver coins.
I figure that if silver goes over $100 then $2/ounce extra refining costs will be insignificant compared to the extra 10% or so of silver that I end up with compared to paying spot for .999 (and that is if you could pick up .999 for spot, so in reality I have at least 15% more).
By this method I have picked up over 1000 ounces (ASW) using about 20,000 bids and 1000 wins in under 3 years. Lots of little wins adds up (and yes I include postage costs when I bid).

I buy below spot, or at spot. Even when I buy ASEs. I even bought a one ounce round below spot, but immediately sold it on ebay for double. Lets just say it had a less than wholesome depiction of a woman. Aaaaaaand my wife was wanting it gone fast. That was the plan all along.

Anyway, I'll give my secrets if FadeToBlack gives out information that leads to me getting weekly ike bags :P

I stopped buying silver at spot or below as it is not appreciates with the time ... God only know how long will it take for silver/gold to take off. That's why I play only with semi-numiz/numiz. Premiums are high ... returns are much better even in short term.
Cost average is $3/oz
