The earth coughed this up for me this morning. Probably the best condition copper coin I ever dug.

Obviously environmental damage but what about details grade?

Looks like this coin was dropped when it was fairly new. Looks like XF details. Nice find

Acetone soak followed by a long term olive oil soak? What do you think?

1st I blew off the loose soil with compressed air. Next I soaked it in cold hydrogen peroxide to loosen the remaining soil. This was followed by a q-tip "roll" to lift off stubborn soil. Next I did a quick acetone soak but that did not really do much of anything.

This is probably as good as it is going to get.

Olive oil is typically reserved for coins that are in an advanced deteriorating state where the details are hard to see, as it brings out the details. This coin does not need olive oil.
