I have a few but I will start with this coin. There are several reasons I wish I had never sold this coin. 1. Tough to find with any color. I wish I had this coin professionally pictured as my pics do no justice. 2. PQ for the grade 3. Try finding FE with errors. 4. Again my pics do no justice but the coin has wonderful semi PL surfaces.

Hasn't happened yet. I suspect my son will have to deal with the disbursal of my collection.

I'm too attached to everything I have in my collection. I can't see myself selling any of it unless I'm in dire need of the money. On that note, hopefully I'll NEVER have to "regret" a sale.

I know, a common date in a common grade (AU55). But it was just so original, and sharp, and I loved its look. Made a good trade, but still miss that coin!

So far no regrets. I kept all the coins from the original stash my mom gave me, sold some of the gold when it was 1740. I wish I sold all the gold at 1740 though, I could have bought it all back plus extra today.

Once a coin gets into my collection, it stays there unless I replace it with a better specimen... I do regret a wrong decision I made when in Austria shortly before the Euro replaced the Schilling. I got two 20-schilling coins in change. These were quite high value coins worth over £1 each in British money. One was dated 1980 and the other 1981. I didn't have either in my collection, and wanted to save both, but soon afterwards I needed some cash for something and spent the 1981 coin as it wasn't in quite as good condition as the 1980. Later on the same trip I went to a bank and got some rolls of 20-schilling coins to sort through - there were loads and loads of 1980s but I never found another 1981...

In my haste to break into The Bay marketplace I sold a 1795 Flowing Hair Dollar in ANACS VG8 grade (with some issues) for $1700. I would give anything to have it back since I now have its little sister 1795 Flowing Hair Half. They would have made a great pair. PG

This is a tough question to answer. I'm a "catch and release" collector by nature, never having had a lot of disposable income for permanent additions to the collection. So, a lot of coins have passed under my lens (I don't buy them to own them, I buy them to shoot them ) over the years, only to move on to more permanent homes. I regret losing all of them. Two stand out, though:

My ex- hag-of-a-wife pawned a 1889 cc xf45 Morgan dollar while I was in the first gulf war. I would have posted the pictures but she also sold the computer too! This is what I'd still like to do to her right now.

Ohhh Ssuperddave.. I thought I had a nice 1818 large cent until I saw the one you set free. Mine would be a junk bin coin compared to yours...
