I keep seeing this name on ebay. The coins from this collection seem to fetch higher prices than comparable coins. Was this a famous collection now being sold off? If so, how does a buyer know it is authentic? Is there a type of registration or purchase history from the estate?

It's a name the seller came up with to blatantly play on the idea that provenance enhances a coin's value. Unfortunately, this isn't a "provenance." It's a collection liquidation. Ridiculous.

I agree that it must be a huge collection. Lots of really nice stuff, inter-mixed w/ a lot of run-of-the mill coinage

Sounds almost like my Samui hoard. Lot's of run-of-the-mill coinage but (unfortunately) just a few 'nice' pieces.
