It's probably EF or so, by British standards.

It's a nice piece, but quite common even in that condition.

Looks A/unc but a weak strike.

Looks at least MS-60. Probably around MS-62 (weak strike).

Not £1 in this condition I would really like you to find a coin like this for £1 you can start by looking on ebay they are all russish scrached to bits and they are asking for more than £1. May I also add I never said this coin is rare I said I read that this coin at this date is hard to find in good condition.

No, they pulled the half-cent.

This half-penny would have a historical exchange rate of maybe 2.5 cents at the time the half-cent was scrapped... and the US has yet to get rid of the 1-cent...

Hi 241079. It's grade is VF. Value is quite low, unless you find a nice 'toned' one that you can sell over the pond.
It's a nice condition coin, Might be an idea to concentrate on the coin rather than the value and also go for stuff from slightly earlier. If you are looking for this type of coinage, please PM me and I will be happy to sell you a few.

George VI halfpenny coin. 1948. Mintage 26,947,200. Est. after average disposal 21,557,760. Price in Fine 0. Price in Very Fine 0. Price in Extremely Fine £1.00 & Price for an uncirculated piece £4.00

Obviously these are 'book' price and to give a coin zero value is stupid no matter what country you are in.

The new coin yearbook comes out in December and the old one (2013) will be available for £3.99 might be an idea to grab one. Don't worry about it being out of date, the only coinage that moves dramatically in the space of a year are the very rare die errors and some of the rarer British hammered.

You could fill your boots up with like condition coins at most coin fairs.A lot of dealers have tubs of coins at 0.25p to £5.
ebays tat prices are excessive.(especially when postage is factored in)
Spinks retail price for a BU 1948 1/2d is £8.They don't price lesser grades.
Collectors coins GB price is £7/8 for a BU and £1 for EF with no prices for lesser grades.
