I just bought this for $46, not the greatest deal but I liked the color.

Grade?

I'm going against the grain of the last two posts. This coin shows a great strike for 1922, and MS64 won't hold it. Until I see evidence to the contrary from your own pics when you get it, this one's a lock at MS65.

With that said, the images aren't large enough to comment on the originality of the surfaces. I'm guessing that the images are off on white balance, skewed towards yellow, and you'll find what looks like toning here to be concentrated towards the rims on the actual coin. That, to me, is not an encouraging sign because Peace dollars don't tone that way. My gut tells me this one's toning after a dip (but one which didn't kill the surfaces). So please don't raise your hopes too much prior to receiving the coin.

$46 isn't terrible for a coin of this technical merit. We have ways of making up for the rest.

I think it may grade MS-64. The surfaces especially in the primary focal areas don't look quite as marred up as the 63's that I have seen but I think the marks on the neck will hold back from a higher grade.

That's what kept me from going to a 64.

the long long that extends from the neck to under "god we" is a die crack, I think there are others as well.
