I guess if you're adding the Philippine coins with the lady, I'll add a couple other denominations with the gentleman. According to Wikipedia: The ½ centavo, one centavo, and five centavo coins depict a Filipino man kneeling against an anvil, with a hammer resting at his side. He is on the left side (foreground), while on the right side (background) there is a simmering volcano, Mt. Mayon, topped with smoke rings. This figure is an allegory for the hard work being done by the native peoples of the Philippines in building their own future. The obverse of the 10, 20, 50 centavo, and peso coins are similar, but they show the figure of Liberty, a standing female figure (considered by many to be the daughter of the designer 'Blanca') in the act of striking the anvil with a hammer. This was done to show the work being done by Americans in building a better Philippines. Liberty appears on the silver coins, instead of the base metal coins.

1943... I only have a few walkers and they are not very nice looking, both of these are '43 and they work great to prop up one of my most beautiful silver pieces, Australia 3 pence I have a '42 in as good condition as this one Edit: I broke the rules again... we all need to work on that, just getting excited about the war years, my official coin is the 3 pence... the walkers are just there to stand up the coin , I'll follow the rules a little better in the future... or past, which ever comes next, if you want to see my war time Cents go back to page 33... unless you just came from there

ASLAN TVortlon, the rules stated in the OP asked for Quote: One coin per person per year, unless part of a set. Pick which one you want to display for 1943. UPDATED - thanks for modifying your post to try and stick with the rules.

Nice wheaty there crisp lines and a good job on the close up, it seems we are just posting pictures today and not getting into story telling, so here it goes The Wheat cent often wrongly called a penny (UK has pennies we have Cents... says so right there between the ears). Ears of wheat were used because the basis of money/trade/barter has always been food (the most basic human need) Historically a small copper piece was used to buy daily bread, a measure of wheat for a measure of copper. I ran across a post today from allranger, https://goccf.com/t/166473&whichpage=2 The coin from Tatarstan is showing a Denomination of "1 Kilo of Bread" so as late as 1992 the idea of basic daily nourishment is still being counted in small pieces of copper in some countries.

Quote: A tricky one to photograph Good job ... I bet that was hard to get a good picture. I have some older 1 Sen coins (copper) I need to sit down and figure out the dates, so maybe I can post them in the future
