Hi all!! I'm new to this site. I had this pretty quarter given to me as change and have been holding on to it for a few years now. Could you help me with grading and value if possible? thank you.

Something looks off about the obverse to me, but I don't know if it's just me or not.
Anyways, I would love to get one of these in change.

Welcome to Coin Community, furmosa. Nice to have you here.

Your coin shows very strong detail, certainly what we'd call "high AU." However, the way the light reflects off the higher details of the obverse, as well as the crud I note still clinging to the deeper recesses of the devices both obverse and reverse, convinces me that this coin has been cleaned and polished in the relatively recent past (by that I mean during the last decade as opposed to the last hundred years). As a result, a coin which could have commanded over $200 probably now has a retail value of $60-75.

Looks like the obverse has been cleaned. Some nice toning on the reverse. I'd call it xf/au cleaned and value it at about 50$.

I'd love the story on getting change that landed this in your pocket!

Polished but fantastic detail...the stars are very well struck

if you don't need the $50 I would just hold it and know that you have a fantastic piece of american history

AU détails as mentioned above cleaned or polished. Very nice for a quarter, I'd bet someone raided dad's coin collection!
