i have cleaned as much as I dare . You can see a dot between the 4 and 7 in the date .

I see it okay... are you sure it's part of the original minting or might it be some corrosion residue? If it was inherent to the penny right from the mint that would be a nice little score - I haven't seen that variety yet.

I tried to scrape the dot off and then brushed with soap using a toothbrush . The dot does not seem to be from rust or corrosion .

Easy to see and a great "dot",.. ...just not what you expect to see in a "47 Dot"..... Cool dot...  . . .

This 1947 with dot between the 9 and 4 . I took this coin to a dealer and they think its a die problem . definitely some thing there . Wonder who I could send coin to for better conformation its a dot ? Any suggestions . Thanks .

CP save your money , ICCS will not slab it or comment on it unless it is in the Charlton book... Maybe CCCS might but I dont think the cost justifies the value

Looks like it seen some electricity running through it with arking marks. Old fusebox penny? IMO

That's an interesting thought...
It could now have been an electric arc or flash and could have transferred a bit of solder ..or the like...Just another option to consider...
