I want to get it slabbed by PCGS but they only attribute VAM 33 (R-4) and not the 33a (R-6). So what should I do? How rare is this coin? Thanks in advance. P.S. It's MS (BU/choice) Erik Edited by talkcoin 11/02/2013 03:13 am

You might consider the PCGS slab and a VSS attribution. VSS is Variety Slabbing Service that will photo the feature on your coin, proving it is a V-33a, and affix a label with pic and attribution. Highly respected, rediculiously cheap.

VSS is your best bet to get the correct attribution. Looking at completed listings on ebay, it appears grading services get confused. Not all clashed 33's are 33A's.

After; he stickers the reverse of the slab.

If the coin is in a PCGS slab already just send it to VSS, why pay for attribution 2 times?

You definitely got that coin for a steal.. nice find! As far as rarity goes, I hear the V33A is actually more common than the V33, so I am guessing they are at least close in rarity.. What you want to do is find the V44 which shares the reverse, but is a little more of a "pick!"
Congrats on a very cool find!

Nice eye!, to spot the 33A, its not all that rare as the designation might lead to believe, but it is a very cool coin with all kinds of cool clashes, For the money/grade...a super deal well done
