I found this coin earlier today. It was in a $250 box of quarters. I'm not expecting a high grade for obvious reasons.

It's been rode hard and put away wet, but that's OK. It is now the oldest quarter that I have ever found in circulation.

I'm gonna give it an acetone bath with the hopes of getting the gunk off of the reverse.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the replies, fellas. That is about what I figured, too. After acetone and light Q-tip cleaning.

It looks a little better, but it's sorta like polishing a cow patty, yes?

Regardless of the grade. Nothing wrong with finding $4.25 that cost you a 25 cents!

On the COOL side of life....I have yet to find a silver quarter in circulation. Congrats!!
