Saw another one at a coin show today - crisp (not TPG however) - dealer wanted $1600 for it.

VERY unusual and a keeper for sure.
Only a dollar? Can't go wrong at that price.
Keep or sell, truly a find.

Around a year ago a man walks into a coin show and goes up to my dad, he says, "I found this note in circulation, how much would you give me for it?"

My dad, being on the spot, quickly does as much research as possible on it, he notes that at the time we had a LOT of error notes, and he didn't really want this one. He offered a lowball offer of $200.00. The man took the 200 and left.
We sold the note for around $700 in a month. Wow!

Dad shows it to me and I obviously go to the most informative coin/currency forum out there (CCF obviously) and look up mismatch serial number star note. I stumble on this thread. I check the serial numbers of the note pictured and the one in my hand and...they were the same note! Tear and all!

Just thought I'd share, I had forgotten about it till a couple days ago.

How did you see the photo? It's being blocked by Photobucket.

Zombie Thread Alert!!

Pillar of the Community coinlover1899 somehow decided that reviving a 3-1/2 year old thread for an update ... with no photos ... would somehow provide additional information.

Politely suggest that a new thread with photos of the coin show found error bill from a year ago would be welcome and receive positive responses.

I realize that. He posted an hour ago, though.

I found this thread a year ago, when the photos were still on it.

Sorry nickel searcher, but I figured this would be a good place to put the new post. Also, like I said, I sold the note, so I don't have any photos.

Sorry again, just wanted to share what happened to the bill.

So, if I'm reading this correctly, and understanding what I read, the OP (or someone who bought the note from the OP) 5 years ago sold the note to your dad at a coin show a year ago for 200$?

Or am I just dazed and confused?
