I just recently found this forum and it looks awesome. I search rolls from local banks (just cents & nickels). Some recent finds: 1910, 1912, 1918, 1919, 1943 (no rust) Lincolns, along with quite a few minor errors (wierd mintmarks, filled letters & dates, etc )and die varieties (Wide AMs, etc.)and a 1943-P War Nickel. Something wierd just happened. A long-missing hole in my Roosevelt dime album was a 1969-P (very low mintage). I was searching a customer-wrapped cent roll when I found one in the middle of the roll of cents. Very Strange.

to CCF, Centurion! You're lucky, I'm a fairly seasoned penny roll hunter, but have yet to find 1910, 1912, and 1918! Awesome finds!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to participating in the forums. Some of the other forums also look informative and fun too.
I am lately finding that many banks are not willing to exchange cash for coin rolls unless you have an account with them. Fortunately my bank has many local branches. I try to space my requests between the different branches so as not to wear out my welcome.

Once I found a 1918 and 1919 wheat along with 17 other wheats and an 1895 Indian cent. Nice finds altogether though I am also a very active cent and Nickel roll searcher.

I just recently began keeping coppers (hand sorting). I figure even if melting does not pan out (Congressional approval, etc.), the worst that could happen is that I get my money back (after lugging them back to the banks or to Coinstar machines). If it does work out someday, where else could you possibly double your cash investment?
