I love Swiss francs... One of my favorite world designs. But admittedly I've never seen a fake one before... So I don't know how much of a help I can be...

So I know for future reference what to look for.. What stands out to you for it being fake? It looks ok to me... Nothing jumps out at least. I'd love to have this one in my collection! Well... If its real that is.. Such a nice design!

How's the weight? Should be 10gr.

The denticles on the obverse look a bit wonky. Worn and slightly flattened at 10 o'clock and some with dimples at 6 o'clock or is that just the photography?

Size and weight is spot on. Its silver... obviously...

Rim/collar/denticles poorly struck you are right about this...

I also thought the denticles looked a bit off but I thought it was due to the angle of the photo.

So the weight and diameter are spot on? And it is silver? Hmm... Nothing really jumps out at me as fake.

Is this your coin of one your looking to purchace? As I said I love these... If its yours and you ever want to get rid of it, well once you have enough posts to sell (u might have enough already to trade ) even if it does turn out to be a fake I'd still be quite interested... I doubt you want to part with it if its yours... But just thought I'd throw that out there.. Lol.

Why do you think it's a counterfeit? I don't see anything obvious at the moment. It's sold under this auction:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SWITZERLAND...047675.l2557

There is a slabbed one on ebay as well

Oh

Thanks for the link to the slabbed one.

I was comparing the coin to some other slabbed ones that I found online and I noticed differences in the design of helvetia. Compared to the other specimens the neck is shorter and wider. The proportions of the figure are slightly different and the creases of the robe where different too. The spikes on helvetias head have a different alignment and size.

I was doubting because I couldn't find any comparable specimen since there where so many differences

Now the slabbed one that was posted here matches sort of...
Mmmh I guess its fine then, ill send mine in I wonder how it grades should be at least a 63

And the slabbed one on ebay looks different to the NGC one - or at least it does to me.

When you say its silver did you do magnet sliding test ? I found that to be more accurate than just simply looking for being magnetic or the ring test.
