44.95 for 5 $1 Presidential Coins and a Silver Eagle. Seems like a decent price. Anybody buying?

I bought a couple - I already have the others in the series. 2007 - 2008 - 2012 and now this one.

No, I don't ever plan to. I do support the use of dollar coins but I won't touch these ones. The prez dollars are ugly and token-like and I dislike the edge lettering. Complete monstrosities.

Why would they put such a set together? Those coins together don't sound like an appealing mix, although the price seems reasonable.

Why would they put them together? Because they all have a face value of $1

The short answer is "No". The long answer is "No way".

The 2013 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set (XA5)
contains $5 face in additional coins and costs only $1 more than the 2013 Uncirculated ASE (GB2) by itself, so why not? If you wanted the 2013-W Unc. ASE and didn't need the OGP blue box, you can save $4 by buying this Set and spending the small Dollars (or possibly net more by selling the small Dollars on the Bay). Also, the mintage on the 2012 Unc. Dollar Coin Set (OGP) was under 30,000 units I bought one GB2 2013-W (Blue Box/COA) for box/COA continuity in my ASE collection, and I'll buy several of the XA5 Unc. Dollar Coin Sets.

I've been buying 5 or so sets every year they have been available and will do the same this year. I think it's a good looking set
I usually open one set and keep the rest intact..

I am not collecting ASE, but if I were, I would get this set because DNA is right on the money with his logic.

No, not this year. I have already bought my dollar coins (not the ASE though)elsewhere so I'm all set. Next year I am looking to buy ALL of my needs from the Mint. I'm going to buy the Uncirculated set, Proof set, and Silver Proof set, and I'll pay less that way than what I have been doing now by buying them one at a time. Of course I'll be buying some doubles (the dollar coins, nickel, and cent) by buying both proof sets, but I'm thinking I can get my money back on those somehow.

Got them last year, can't see a reason not to buy them this year. Artfully produced and attractive glossy folder for the burnished ASE and the five $1 coins. As a matter of fact the packaging has improved leaps and bounds over the 2010-11 years, particularly the boxes for the various annual proof sets. Let's hope the Mint continues to improve the packaging trend in 2014.
