AU-58. Slight abrasions on the high points, but excellent luster and eye appeal. If you paid the AU-50 price, you have made a good purchase!

I'm curious what the two AU graders see in the images. This is always the toughest challenge for me - AU vs MS. In this thread https://goccf.com/t/163022 none of the opinions went AU, and yet I see very little to distinguish my coin from that one, at least over the internet.

I can't see any wear personally, but it's hard to tell from the photos, despite your good efforts. Based on the quality of the fields, if there is no wear on the high points, I'd be inclined to agree with Dub and say MS-63.

Oops, SHAFTA9a. Uh, no, I misspoke, I meant to fill in a missing denomination. You did make me laugh though. If I go all nuclear on this coin there is a good scratch across the hair, which I never even noticed until now...

It's interesting to see the frostiness at the highest points on the dollars and 50 cents of George VI. What is sometimes called die burn and definitely not wear..
Great MS63 piece ...and very desirable...Good job..!!
...and I wish that I had one like that...

DEVLEC, thanks for your comment about "die burn" for this era. I've been wondering about it, since I see it on several ICCS coins in my collection that are all MS62. It must take a lot of experience with these to decide what's wear and what isn't. Honestly this is probably the only raw coin I've gotten from "that auction site" where it exceeded my expectations.
