My forum name may give you a clue.
I have a 1979 Mercedes-Benz W116 450SEL, with the 6.9 litre engine and Citroen style hydraulic suspension.
The number plate?
SEL 69L
I invite all on the CCF site to Google
TOPKLASSE
This site mainly concerns itself with the Mercedes-Benz 'S' Class model, 1972 to 1980. My forum name on this site is the same as it is here, in the CCF. My avatar on the TOPKLASSE site is a picture of my car.
I have small collection of antique sterling silver and ceramics, and an old English farmhouse (grandfather) clock.
The clock movement was originally sold new in 1795 by a clock seller, by the name of Edmund Martin of Kent (England). His name is engraved on the dial plate. It has an anchor escapement. Accuracy, with careful adjustment of the pendulum nut screw, is about five minutes a year. That depends mainly on the temperature throughout the year, which affects the length of the pendulum.
I also know a bit about gemology, and I am a gem cutter and collector, with about 200 faceted stones in the collection.
My favorite stone to cut is Australian yellow sapphire, which comes from Anakie, in Central Queensland. Anakie is the largest supplier of gem grade rough sapphire in the World.
