I've always collected wheat pennies since I was a kid but never really understood collecting just loved wheaties for some reason. Through the years I would pull them out of change, my register when I worked at a grocery store, and the bank deposits when I ran my own Domino's store. I had a nice little collection of them including a 1909 I found at Domino's. I did not know at the time about the vdbs and when I moved last they are no where to be found. Anyways I started collecting about three months ago after finding a 61 quarter in some change and feel I have accumulated a nice little collections in that time frame on my limited budget. I've used a few different ways of finding coins from buying at coin/pawn shops, searching through rolls, mostly pennies, finding in change, and searching through my families change jars. Let me know what you think and I'll try and get pictures up but always have a problem trying to resize and save them for this site.

I also had 20 more walkers including a few key dates but unfortunately had to sell some due to financial reasons. I'm still sad I had to sell the 1921 and 1916. But I only paid $16 for the two of them. I purchased a set a couple months ago that had 35 walkers for $300 and the 21 and 16 were included.

Apppeaers to be a little wild for a starter. Or just uncertain as to what is what. Yes you have a lot of coins for such a short period of time but which ones are you trying to collect? Or are you trying to collect everything? Most people when they start in with coins start with one type, then slowly move to others. Do you have any goals?

I know its a little wild. When I started collecting this time around it was mainly for coins with silver content and wheat pennies. Currently I would like to add different kinds of coins from pretty much 1900's on so really all I have left is the Barber coins, a Mercury dime, and a Standing Liberty quarter, wartime nickel, wsteel penny, and an Indian penny. The past few days after seeing some 7070 on here I might just try and start one of those while also looking for silver coins and wheats since those are my favorites.

I would look through some mixed world coins (because they are cheap and fun) and pick out some interesting ones. Most coin stores have these - you might have to ask at the front.

I'm really not all that interested in world coins just keep the ones I find in change or usually keep some if I visit another country. Bullion coins from other countries are really all I would buy or just ones with silver content. I mainly am trying to keep to US coinage but won't let a good deal pass me be if I see one. Also some of the coins I have kept will be spent, mainly just the excess Presidential dollars I have, because my workplace always saves me any dollars/halves that wind up in there tills and I always exchange bills for them just in case. Two of my 64 Kennedy's I received from work for face value which was awesome.
