Am I the only one seeing spots of corrosion on the reverse?
I also think PCGS was pretty liberal on the grade.

Problem free

Don't get me wrong, I would take ANY 1793 any day of the week!

I think I've seen steely-grey spots like that on copper before, but I don't know what causes them.

CCF has been experiencing Forum Time Anomaly™ since the DST changeover. It should be OK now, but please contact us if your computer is showing you next Thursday's posts.

These aren't RCW's best images, but it leaves me the impression of a horribly-overgraded coin.

IMO, it looks like it was suffering from verdigris or some other gunk that was then removed via acetone or another harmless agent. I believe what we are seeing is what was underneath the gunk after removal.

After you ask and find out what next Thursdays, spot and stock markets are doing.
