Got this one on ebay for 6$.

Not problem free, but it does have nice details and the price was reasonable.

How'd you grade it?

Edit: sorry about the red strings on both sides, these are the seller pics.

Makes you wander if it was dug up. Not quite VF details. F details. These thick copper nickel cents were my favorites when I was a kid. I still love them. I carried one as a pocket piece in high school.

Best guess: It will get a DETAILS - Environmental Damage slab.
At that point any grade applied would be moot.

Fine details, environmental damage. It's too far gone to be anything but a hole filler.

I've always wondered about how to grade those.

Some places, like the shield in the back, the diamonds (I can actually see 2), the ribbon or the necklace exhibits easy XF details.
Others, like the LIBERTY or the feathers, shows F detail.
