Trying to identify what this is (or at least what country it is from) and not having any luck. The script resembles some older coins from India. Has anyone seen this kind of writing before?

It's not a "coin", in terms of being a legal tender piece of money issued by a government. It is an Islamic pilgrim's token from Southeast Asia (Indonesia/Malaysia). The script is Jawi, a local variation on Arabic.

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe the image in the bottom pic is a depiction of the story of the sacrifice of Abraham's son.

I don't think you'll find an exact match, but you'll find numerous similar items on these zeno.ru pages.
