you are hitting the same walls I did...

in the 2002 Krause the only image it had was on page 434 and it was being called Coinage of Uncertain origin, plus had a
PMD stamp mark that had a soviet connection. Then the Krause 2012 showed the one you found with

a "Su" at the left, and "Kan" at right
Then I found under the chapter heading of "China, Republic of" Y# 329 Dollar (Yuan)
the symbols all match... I have no clue how to read them with out the charts in the back of Krause, but since my Uncle Sam sent my Dad to South East Asia in the early 60's (that is when my collection actually started... more than a decade before I was born, I asked him why he didn't save me more coins and of course he said he didn't know I was on the way) back to the symbols, I have spent many hours researching Thai, Japanese, Chinese, dates for my coins.
I'm 95% certain the item in question is the "Y# 329 Dollar (Yuan)"
Since I don't have a reputation to stake I'm hoping to gain it now.
