I have a 1919 S Wheat penny that I found last week. It looks a bit weird to me. First of all it has very wide rims on the obv and rev side and also the color is a bit off ..it looks like a different planchette for a different penny. Well my camara is off and I'm sorry this is the best pics I can send you right now and I hope you can see the key points that I'm referencing.

You might try backing away from the cent a little bit. Give your camera a chance to focus. The pictures may be a little smaller, but they might be more in focus. When you get other pictures, post them in this thread.

Welcome to CC!

I'll take a stab even with blurry pictures. It appears to be what we call a " Dryer Coin", i.e. it spent time getting tumbled around. This tends to fold the rims inward making them fairly thick.

We see about one of these a month in the forums....search " Dryer Coin" and you might just see something similar to your coin.

It may be a Dryer Coin, or it almost looks like the coin was removed from a bezel or encasement and the edge had been compressed.

Wide rims are normal on the pre-1936 wheat cents that I've seen. The coin also looks slightly off-center to the left a little bit, giving the right side a wider rim. The rim gets wider as the coin gets flatter in circulation, too.

As already noted there are many of the older Cents with larger than normal rims. I used to collect as many as I found but then realized it is rather normal Don't now why but larger than so called normal rims is rather normal.
Of course the amount of overage is another story.
