So I have an ANACS graded Morgan, MS64 DMPL, and to my knowledge, I can cross ANACS graded coins to PCGS without them cracking it out before they grade it. And if it doesn't cross, they send it back still ANACS slabbed...
That's how I understood it, am I correct?

Can I include the DMPL designation as a minimum grade when crossing?
It would be sad if they only thought it was a MS64 and cracked it open, with me losing the DMPL designation..

Anyone has any experience with that? Would like to cross because of the PCGS premium.

and does anyone know why NGC doesn't cross ANACS?

thanks

If it's ANACS, then there's a good chance that it will not come back DMPL and possibly a grade lower.

I think you can request that now as theyve expanded what you can request recently but I would call and double check to make sure.

As for NGC, I dont have a clue why they only accpect PCGS crossovers. Its a big mistake in my opinion. PCGS has it right saying they want the best coins in their holders and dont care where they come from.

One would think it is because NGC has no respect for the other TPG's. If you want to crack out your coin and send it in raw, NGC will be glad to grade it correctly, but one would think it is because they have a big problem sending back slabs that don't meet their grading standards. Sending back a SEGS MS70 coin that you know is a 67 or 68, without the ability to point that out, must seem like a backdoor endorsement of these companies. As well as being a colossal waste of time and resources

That's the thing though, If I want to cross it with the current grade, they won't crack it if they think it's a 63, right? No doubt it would cross grade wise, but not sure how they would cross the DMPL.

I would be a huge bummer if they didn't cross the designation, and just cracked it and gave it a regular 64.

Has anyone tried this?

It all depends on what you put for the minimum grade. If you put the current grade as the minimum they wont crack it and will send it back in its current slab if it wouldnt cross. You can designate lower grades as well if you want. Just just cant designate a higher grade or a 70 even if the coin is a 70
