coinsandcanada.com says this is worth C$10 in AG. Should I just toss this in with my sterling scrap, or does this deserve better treatment?

Yup. Melt. As for grade it's between a Poor-1 and Fair-2. Even actual aG-3 grade non-key date Edwards are basically just worth melt too though.

Surprised you can still read the date. It's a hole filler, if the hole is filled, it's scrap.

(Funeral home director)

"As we consign this Edward to the meting pot, let us do so with the memory
of its many years of yeoman service to the Federation.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
Melting to puddles is a fate that's a must.

You may not be able to read the 08 on the scan, but I can read it plainly in hand.

Personally, I'd never melt that baby! I may have as little as a couple years ago though, as my appreciation for lowball quarters is relatively new. I like it.

I think you should keep it as it is... thou it doesn't have much value, it still is a nice coin.
