Dear Forum members,

Ive got an small silver coin I can not identify yet. I though something german but the letters doenst look like on coins from germany. So I am guessing Poland maybe or Austria? Just because the eagle and the letters which I can't make word off.

Hoping someone knows more about this coins..
One side an eagle the other side an King? Important person.. Probably dated 1696 as I though to see above the eagle.

The diameter is like 20 mm and it weights 0,90 grams.

The date looks like 1696 to me as well, my moneys on polish due to the appearance of the eagle but I'm not completely sure.
Feel free to call me Will.

Could the 3 on the obverse be the denomination?

A 3 Kreuzer maybe?

Hello MV and The dollarman,
Thank you for the reactions. I can't find the coin yet under polish coins or german / Austrian coins at this moment. It is indeed a 3 as maybe 3 kreuzer but the German and Austrian coins have not this much text. It looks a bit like this but on mine there is like twice more tekst around.

COMES MONTB DOM HEIDEN stands for count of Mompelgart, lord of Heidenheim. These are titles of the Duke of Württemberg, who, in 1696, was Eberhart Ludwig. Having a hard time seeing his name on the obverse, but I would start by looking among the coins of Stuttgart or the Duchy of Württemberg.

Whoops! That would be the Duchy of Württemberg-Oels! And the Duke here is Christian Ulrich, which fits the obverse legend.

Looking for a pic of a 3 kreuzer of Christian Ulrich, but this one of his immediate predecessor, Sylvius Friedrich, is of the same design:

Awesome job philadelphian!

I came across the 3 Kreuzer but couldn't find one that matched up.
