Brockage?
Found this. Looks like brokerage but there is crimping at the top and bottom. There are also two small circular
depressions on the reverse that went through to the obverse.
The coin has medallic alignment.

The coin weighs 7.43 grams. Not sure what the actual weight of one of these would be.

Ideas?

Seems to me that a brockage error wasn't known at that time which means it could have been done at the mint and the holes drilled after

Don't think the brockage is post mint.

I can't say with any certainty that its not a garage job, but I would certainly lean that way. The weight of this coin is 7.9 - 8.3 grams. They were made at two different mints. The Royal Mint pressed them with Medallic alignment. The Heaton Mint pressed them with Coinage alignment. The two holes look like some one was trying to make a button.Your coin is completely missing the other side, I don't see ANY traces of it. It may be a vise job. Draw your own conclusions.

Someone in a polo club took a genuine brockage coin and made it more interesting in their opinion.
