A straight on picture of the entire coin would be useful.

Not much I can do with that one. The orange blocks out the rainbow color. The image I posted of the 1934 was taken with a macro feature on an older camera. I placed other coins around the coin to show the true color of the coin. The camera sold for $800-1000 years ago. I bought three of them on ebay for $9.99 with shipping for a total of $25. I like to get a deal on stuff I know what it is and how to use it. They use the 3.5" floppies and I buy a USB port drive to run them. I just bought another Photoshop 5.5 today and got a smoking deal on it as well. Having the right camera, the editing program and know how to use it, you can do the impossible.

Well I actually used my daughters camera. I actually dug up a old tripod in the garage I will see if she can use the camera better. But I did get ahold of lincoln guy. It looks like something he would enjoy it was the most toned coin in the roll of 1956d coins I bought yesterday. There is some in the roll that had a funny tilted D and are probably some kind of RPM but I want uncirculated to match the one that was my first ever RPM and I just want to find a twin in unc to display with his well worn brother

I have tried to take pictures of toning and it is difficult. You either have to have the light source at the right angle to the coin or tilt the coin. I guess practice makes perfect right Coop....he looks to have it down to a science.

How expensive for my lighting for the 1934 cent? It involves a desk lamp a small shipping box. a piece of dark fabric with the setup on top of a two drawer cabinet. Two sheets of white bond paper to diffuse the light and a box to keep the desk lamp from falling over.

Proofs a little different setup. Just a ramp to direct the light into the camera:

Ramp is a 2X2 with a piece of cardboard on the opened side then covered with dark material.
