Yeah...that's definitely an S-4! I take it...you're looking for the 1888 Snow-1 too? I guess there's a couple thousand of us doing that.

Not really sure what I am looking for right now. I'm still kind of learning. I just randomly pick a date and am looking for abnormalities. I'm just getting into the error and variety side of coins. There is a lot of great information on this site.

Quote: Any idea on what an 1882 broken top 2 in EF-AU condition is worth ? 2-3 times normal value ? I can't find anything. (and don't go lookin lol) I couldn't help it...I looked. The only one I saw was one that had a stock photo with a description that said good bronze coin or something similar. Hope that wasn't the one you were looking at.

No that was somebody just sending random worn 82's. I had them send me better pics and it wasn't a broken 2 but it was a nice coin.

I'd guess a problem-free 1882 Snow-2 in AU would go for ~75-100, depending on who's buying? Speaking of which, I noticed an S-2 on ebay last week--but I skipped mentioning it because most of the coins in that group have serious issues, the S-2 looks scrubbed, and people were bidding way too high. I'd say the S-2 is worth maybe $25.

Running to the book every time I see a number posted. Is that ever going to end?

Waxemm, that one might deserve its own thread. off center die clash? I really don't know. I do see some active corrosion on the reverse though!

The only thing I'm seeing on that coin is signs of dipping--and that active corrosion. There's an off-center clash for 1880, but I don't see it on the reverse.

^^ It looks closest to Snow-7. It's a common place for repunching on 1907. The RPDs 1900 onward are sorta common due to high mintages--not as much premium on them.
