Hi Guys, I had 2 coins that I like to you guys to check out and hopefully determine what caused the coins to end up in this state. At first glace, I thought that this coin is PD. As it was a bit wavey. But on second look I noticed that the edges are abit weird. I noticed that some edges had the rim mark but some does have and it is across the entire rims.

This caused me to think that could it be mint error? I am newbie and I tired searching online on damaged planchet but could not find anything close to this one. Need some expert to shed some lights on this coin. Thanks. =)

Once again sorry for the bad photos. I will get better equipment to show the details of the coin.

Hi matteproof, Thanks for the fast response. That my initial tot when I see them too. But I am think how did the rims has such a pattern. Some have strong rims marks then follow by smooth edge and then strong rims marks and smooth edge. Curious what caused this PMD.

People do weird things to coins. My guess is it was bent and someone used a hammer to flatten it.

Lol. Life as a coin is tough. =p Need to be touch and torture by many on a daily basis. =p

Btw so if any coins that looks wavy are confirmed to be PMD? Am I right to say that? Any other exception?

This coin looks like it spent time as a shim under something heavy.

I bet this coin was encased and removed. This would account for the rim damage and waviness.
