The first silver from the mint this year rolled in today. Of course, both are VACookey's and not mine. I don't care if it IS the same design every year, the ASE is gorgeous.

A BU 2014 ASE is on its way. I was hoping to pick one up at F.U.N., but ordering online was okay.

I like picking over mine. Obviously cant do that for the "S" and "W", but for the regular one I prefer hand picking it. Its kind of turned into a ritual for me.

What if the U.S. mint changed the reverse of the proof silver Eagle every year like they do on the 1oz. APE? Would you buy it?

Wow, they all look great! I particularly like the design of the Arches.

My order arrived this past week also - 2014 "W" ASE - not put it away yet tho. What happens to be going price on complete proof set of them? (including a 2009 "MS" 70 - just so as to have that year as well) Have all the special sets too - $5,000 for all too high?

I know it's a very touchy subject for some, but I absolutely LOVE the design of the ASE and would be very disappointed if they changed it. The fact that they're all the same is kinda why I like them. Stable, dignified, solid. And for God's sake, please no hokey animals on it. I know alot of folks are enamored by a lot of the foreign issues, but the silver with animals? yech! Snakes and birds and antelopes...uh! With the exeption of an animal that is symbolic to the Nation issuing the coin (ex; US eagle), please no animals. I know I'm boring, but my favorite obverse of any US coin is the Walking Liberty half (w/ "mercury" dime a close second). My favorite reverse is the Kennedy half dollar. (Close to a ASE reverse) Just one man's opinion.
