, just wow... I have been kind of working on a Canadian Cent set since the early 80's. Being in Montana has made it possible but not easy.

Starting from 1955 I am only missing a few: 1958, 1995, 2002, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012. Just from US rolls and pocket change over the past few decades.

I saw a Canadian cent in a change drawer the other day and could not say anything before she closed it... I should have stayed till she opened it again I almost want to get a shirt that says "I Like Canadian Coins in my Change!" Another great thing about Canadian coins in the US is most people that know about silver and care about it think the universal cut off is 1964 so they do not realize Canadians are silver till '68.

Where to start Wade I just bought 1916,17,18,19,20, large cents, my first large ones. I only need for small cents now the hard to get ones 21-27 and 29 plus different variations like some 2000's mag and non mag ones. I started collecting in November when I found a old jar full off pennies and nickels, and now I'm hooked nothing better than searching through a pile of change and finding that one coin you need.

Is your 1951 nickel high relief, or low?
Could be an even better score for free.

It's a sign of bad economic times when people dig deep into their change jars.

1951 beaver nickel in high relief has the last "A" in the word "GRATIA" pointing to a tentacle.
Low relief points between two tentacles.

I can take a photo of the difference if needed.
High relief is the rare one, vg=$450.00 trends.

The composition changed from nickel to plated steel 1951-1954.
The high relief did not strike well so a lower relief die was made.
Some 1951 beaver nickels were struck using the old high relief die.
The 1751-1951 commemorative nickel are all high relief portrait.
