Turns out that was only the 2nd best buy... This one was while hunting slab types (and no, on this one I had no clue of the value of what I was buying)

#1: Roosevelt 10c 1999S - PCGS PR70DCAM, paid $18.30, price guide $100.00

Thundercoin: Bring a lighted magnifier if you go, however - it's a bit of a problem. The rec center building is basically a gym without the bright overhead lights. Some dealers brought enough lighting, some didn't.

Got to agree with you on this point, I've never been to a coin show where the lighting was so bad before. I ended up buying a lighted magnifying lens from the supplies dealer there!

Other than having a lousy website name (Stamps4u.net), they are nice people to deal with.

Raymo, is was only a good-4. Varieties that I am collecting are low grade.
Just for educational purposes.

Wow a mislabled slab! But was that the typist for the label or the grader who wrote it down wrong? So happy it is not a holy PCGS slab. So many promoters would be absolutely devasted and their too loyal opinions shattered to bits

All of the major grading services have exceptions in their guarantees for "mechanical" errors.

For example, PCGS: http://www.pcgs.com/submissionform/usaform2014.pdf

Quote:
5. Customer must inspect all coins immediately upon receipt and PCGS disclaims any liability for
damage or discrepancies or errors, including but not limited to errors in the description of the coin,
unless reported to PCGS within five (5) days of Customer's receipt of the coin(s). Customer agrees to
return any incorrectly described coin to PCGS upon request for correction and hold PCGS harmless from any and all losses and/or claims caused by the circulation or sale of any
incorrectly described coin.

And http://www.pcgs.com/guarantee.html:

Quote:
Clerical or "mechanical" errors. PCGS occasionally makes clerical errors in inputting data which is shown on the insert in the PCGS holder; consequently the PCGS Guarantee does not cover obvious clerical errors, what we call "mechanical errors." The key concept is how obvious the error is to the naked eye. If you can easily tell just by looking at the coin that the description on the holder is wrong, then the coin/holder combination is not covered by the PCGS Guarantee. Examples would include the following: ...
