I've been buying on ebay for a few months but this is new to me. Two weeks ago I bid on a 1926 Far nickel and won. Seller is in Canada like me - is a business as I paid GST. I paid that day but 10 days later had received nothing so tried to contact. Today at day 15 I check my email and find I have a complete refund from PayPal. Two hours later I am surfing ebay and see the same coin on auction again. I know it is the same coin as it is ICCS graded and I see the numbers and same grade and bring up both images and see the same wear on the same parts of the coin. I am out no money but bid in good faith, paid the same day and want that coin. My guess is that the vendor had second thoughts and felt he could get more by relisting the coin. What course of action do you people suggest?

Not too friendly. As you said, he (she) thought he could get more coins. (Pun intended). Guessing Paypal can do nothing. I am a newbie on ebay, selling a very few Eisenhower dollars. I personally have good luck on ebay (so far). Anyway, good luck.

May I please offer a little more. ebay might be able to put a little (or a lot) of pressure on the seller. You 100% have the right to "OPEN" a case against the seller. ebay controls their site like a hawk. If he was trying to sell the SAME coin at a higher price ... I think he might regret it.

with Domain, if you do not get a better or similar price this time around, open a case the same day the auction ends (So that he can't claim he shipped it first). I think things should work out in your favor. By the way, Domain to CCF!

Poor communication and giving a refund/cancelling the transaction without the buyer's premission, then relisting. I'd give him a neg. That is unacceptable seller behaviour.

Once you paid for the coin it was your property, not his. The transaction was complete and he was obligated to ship it to you, and ebay in turn is obligated to make sure the seller keeps his end of the bargain. "Hello, I'm the guy that sold you that Porsche yesterday. Well, guess what? I think I can get more for it now. When would it be convenient for me to come by and pick it up?" It really isn't supposed to work that way. Tell ebay the guy is selling something that you already bought, and reneged on the deal without your approval - it's easy to prove. They can bring a lot more pressure on the seller than what one line of bad feedback would do. And if you get the shipment, then neg him anyway, he earned it. -Duncan PS: If you think that's too harsh, do all of the above but add a smiley icon to the negative feedback. (I know you're out there, SuperDave, I can hear you spitting coffee on the keyboard.)

ebay does not like non performing Sellers. If you bid and win it the 2nd time, and the Seller backs out again, you need to file a complaint. If you so choose, you should be able to leave the big red donut Feedback on the first transaction to warn other Buyers of his tactics. If he has not blocked you from bidding already, he will once the big red donut shows up on his FB page.

Basically he broke a contract with you. In your shoes I'd leave a negative feedback warning other buyers, add them to my 'don't buy from them ever again' list and move on. The nice thing about ebay is that another seller and another coin will usually come along with a bit of patience.

Eventually, he will block you.
I would leave immediately a negative feedback.

I think a lot of people here (myself included)want to know who this seller is so that they don't run into the same problem.

Me too. May we please ID the seller ... if it does NOT break CCF rules.

I think you are correct DBM, but I am very surprised.. I have had many many dealings and have gotten coins way below trend and never had a problem... @ punman did you contact the seller to ask why he did this ?
