I am thinking about getting one. I like how it is a really obvious variety. I can't say I like them, but I also can't say I hate them.

They are interesting and would like to own one of these die clash errors, but can not justify the price. This coin has been marketed as being more than what it really is, and people shell out the bucks for it.

When I saw the title of the thread and I bypassed it the first time. I thought you were referring to a Canadian coin.. LOL

But they are a clashed die event that happened to Franklin half dollars. I don't refer to them as a variety as they are from an event that happened to the die, not something the die was hubbed with.

That is a AWESOME overlay!! I think they are cool..because when I show the two coins to someone for the first time there is just something about the sentence "see Ben Franklin has Buck Teeth" usually gets a laugh or two..both BB coins I have I picked out of a Franklin BU book at the LCS and they seem to be non rare.. And usually just Grade price.. That being said my LCS doesn't search varieties unless the coin is slabbed.

Yes I realized now auto correct got me again title was supposed to be Die Clash lol.. I like em and the prices are dropping and most coin shops only sell. Them at there "grade value" I think they are fun accesible and a good conversation piece. Interestingly it was the coin that got me into varieties. So they hold a special place in my collection
