I received this and initially thought it was an after mint damage quarter.
I took a better looke and realized what I had found.

I have what I can best describe as being a 2001 Vermont 10% Offset Brockage.

Both sides have damage. on reverse side there is an imprint or the end of QUA(RTER DOLLAR)

I see buildup of clad layer shavings/peices on front side

I see cracks and pits which I cannot describe

There is other damage which I cannot figure out how it was done. I do not know if it was done after mint or not

What are your thoughts

to CCF!

I do not see a mint error and see the full design on the obverse (no 10% offset). IMHO it was damaged outside of the mint.

It is damaged. Note how the rims are pushed around? That tells me it is a damaged coin. On a brockage coin the strike is prevented by another coin in the way leaving an indent on the coin.

Here is a broad struck quarter with a brockage from a different coin, a prestruck quarter.

On the brockage quarter (Not shown) the coin would have an indent on the obverse and a brockage on the reverse from the obverse die. (Again I don't have images of that coin.)

But note the rims They are not formed as the planchet was not in the collar. But you do see the rim on the coin in the indent.

Is it worth anything other than being a conversation piece?

Worth a quarter, unless you use it in a machine. The bank would probably ship it back to be removed from circulation.
