Love the way Mint News Blog summed it up Quote:As mentioned yesterday, the United States Mint's home page has promised a special promotion coming on February 20. I'm not happy about this bag promo but the mint is actually reading the their website surveys and trying to please people that visit their site.
I like the idea that they took one of their medals and put it into silver (the TR set) and I love their 10% subscription program.
The bag promo just shows the Mint can't please everyone all the time but at least they are trying.

Trying? I really doubt that they got many surveys asking for shopping bags. How about something with relevance, like a free magnifier, flip wallet, etc.

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing, OldSkool.
Boy, I wish I had a high quality magnifier from the mint or a US Mint wallet!!
That would make my day. Wow, I'd love one of those.

Thats just wasting money, the percentage of people pleased by that is going to be in single digits and most will just throw it away. Most people dont want to walk around with a bag that says rob me I have valuable things. Not to mention anyone who goes to the grocery store already has more bags than they could ever use |

What I am wondering...is will my Limited Edition Proof set get me a free bag - even though I ordered the set in December and it won't ship until March? I know my Teddy Roosevelt coin and chronicles...I also ordered in December and have yet to know when it will ship - doesn't qualify...

A loupe would make a ton of sense for coin collectors so thats without a doubt a yes. Or use that money to provide free upgraded shipping for all orders. Or free shipping on orders over $300 to encourage more spending. Or just do nothing at all |
