I have a coin that almost looks 2d or flat I guess. What would cause that?

Extreme circulation will also remove the devices and look flat.

Thanks guys I found out it was a weak strike as most details were there just not puffed up. It almost looks like a drawing

From your description it sounds more to me like it is Struck Through Grease and not a weak strike. You might still want to post pics.

Your description sounds very similar to a 2000d that I found yesterday. I will try to get a decent picture but I have not tried this before so my chances are not too good.

Mine doesn't look like the picture either. Just found out that I do not have enough posts to upload pictures so will have to wait on that.

Comparison with an UNC 2000d:

On the Obverse, the high points an all features appear noticeably flatter than on the UNC 2000d but the low areas on the ear, beard and hair all look deeper. The reverse appears the same on both coins. I measured the thickness of both with a micrometer and found that they both measure about.050 in. Seems to lessen the chance of wear as the cause.

Will try pictures after another 40 posts.

Not sure where I got that 50 post idea from but in reviewing the rules it looks like I am OK to upload pictures. This is the best I can do right now.

Another thing,(Newbie question) is what I am doing hijacking this thread? Should I have started a new post?
