Tripoli...the 'crest' of the Canadian market was definitely between 2004 to 2006.
After the Financial Crisis hit (the Fall of 2008) the Canadian market dropped off a cliff.
Coincidentally, Bob Armstrong officially retired about an hour away from the Financial crisis (talk about perfect timing!!).

I sent you PM. When I read something like this I interject my own personality and read between the lines - if it were me, part of it would be anger at my own country, and wanting to dump their stupid currency. My wife is from Thailand and we jumped through all these hoops in the US; ten years later now we have two kids and waiting 6 months for renewed green card... all I'm saying is, been there, and I feel for you. Hopefully this is not a rash decision and maybe if you let it settle for a bit you'll change your mind. Hope everything works out for the best; I've really enjoyed your posts and coins!

Persistnt.. It's all good... I was just kidding...but I will argue one point you made.. you said you can't afford silver or gold.. but my argument would be that you can't afford NOT to...
Like anything ... if you want it you can find a means and a way... if you're seriously interested send me a PM and I'll tell you how I got started..

Artdio, I would have to agree with AGCoinAu. A good auction house (either Heritage or one of the larger Canadian show auctions) would often yield better results as a "whole" than a dealer. There are some exceptions to that rule, at times be it Sean (mentioned here), Lise R in Montreal or any other dealer (oh wait I'm one too) that may have specific clients looking for specific things in which case pricing can get attractive for you. As everyone says, the market is pretty tough right now and even tougher for more expensive coins. Some dealers have fallen to around 40% and less on the buy side for common stock Canadian coinage, better on the more rare stuff. Start with a solid inventory that's presentable to auction houses/dealers/buyers. Ultimately go with who and what you're comfortable with. Last but not least and saying all that, I wouldn't be selling everything right now. My Two Cents worth.
