I got this one today by far the strongest by miles of the few I own.

Hopefully this is a pretty cool circulated example of the 1942-S re-punched mint mark.

This coin exhibits a strong re-punched mint mark to the south.

It has some choice VF details, but I am aware there are some rim scrapes on the left side of the reverse holding it back.

Coop, Nothing at first when I looked up similar rpm for the 1942-s it only showed 1942 S/S Doubled Die Obverse 1 (rpm 1) and said "This variety is a rare combination of an RPM and a DDO." it was more a question which you answered with yours. I am slowing figuring it out its been around a month collecting so far I still got a lot to learn but I am resourceful and crafty at finding stuff.

Keep hanging in there. It took me years to train the eye to spot varieties. Someone was patient with me, now it is my turn to be patient. But the images on the DVD will help a lot. Some that have already watched it have just years in knowledge. Not that just one person know all, we are all learning. Even a question that may seem basic can teach others who read it. That is why I put my all in each post.

So ...does this coin have MD and a Repunched MM? Or is it a MMM? I don't really collect MM's.

It looks like a machine doubled RPM variety. Still a nice find.
