I'm going to go one grade lower then the majority, and say AG-03.

G-4 imo. If the reverse rim from roughly the 3 to 9 was fully there I think it'd be a G-6.

Thanks! Yes there are. One reason I am picking coins like these up. In fact, the 1859-S only had a single die pair and most were melted after an estimated mintage of 80,000. Most surviving examples survive in AG-VF (the majority with problems) and no MS coins are known. PCGS has only graded a total of 76 coins in all grades. NGC, 14. Highest known examples are 2 AU55's.

I also appreciate these scarce 'S' mint quarters. I would grade this example as an appealing good 4.

I think this one really pushes the G-6 grade. G-5.5. I can see PCGS letting this one slide in at G-6. I share your love for this coin also. Wish it were mine!!
