I've got a little free time so I'm going over some coins I've had for a while that don't fit my collection. I picked this one up as part of a lot a couple years ago & pretty much forgot I had it. I don't know a thing about grading Canadian coins & am hoping some of you can help. I understand this is a key date for the series. Not real impressed with the splotchy toning.

I was thinking dipped & then toned. It's hard to make out through the grey but there does look like there might be some luster left.

I planned on throwing it up on ebay until someone mentioned they thought it might be a ground find. Not worth risking bad feed back over. Don't know about shipping to Canada but might be convinced to do a CCF "pocket it now" if you were seriously interested.

Should only cost you about $2/3 bucks or so, if you put it on PIN and artdio doesn't take it, I would be interested also..

The '34's are a nice date... I said that I thought this one was burried b/c of the tonning... just looks like it was at one point in a humid area but it hadn't seen a lot of circulation.. that's why I thought perhaps burried... You have some people interested in this coin so I would say they see something they like.... you have a nice coin with good features...

You think this coin is VF-EF... that trends at $34 - $84... so I would suggest you put it up on the bay for a BIN of around $40 and take the first $25 or higher that's offered.. just my opinion .. sorry if I stepped on others toes but I think this coin is worth more than $2 - $3.

I think you would get significantly more than $2-3 putting it as an auction on ebay... I have some very nice coins with good underlying luster with a similar toning pattern

I bought the coin as part of a collection locally. I know it had been sitting in a manila envelope in a safe in Alabama for 30-40 years. That might explain the toning. I also know that there were coins in the collection that had been dipped....& thought it was likely this one had been also.

I don't think my pics of this coin are good enough to list on ebay. I don't list anything there without photos & a description that make everything perfectly clear. I've got more confidence in forum members to not freak out if they aren't satisfied. Not sure where you are getting the $2-3 from**. If I list here it would be priced based on ebay prices minus fees & probably with free shipping.

**just reread the thread & now see where you are getting the $2-3 from. I'm pretty sure the person that posted that was referring to the shipping cost & not the price of the coin.

Ohh sorry mis-read that it was shipping!

Well personally I hope you sell it to someone here on the forum.. then you know it's going to a good home at a fair price!
