Please note that I've submitted the picture to Coneca and to Error-ref.com and will have there answers soon enough but thought i'd be fun to FINELY get a photo uploaded for everyone to see. This is my 1959 Nickle with "What I believe to be" A planchet error struck though debris error. But they and you will all have your own ideas I'm sure. Please enjoy the pic and any ideas would be great as well. thanks everyone

Thanks for the picture.
There does seem to be some sort of foreign metallic inclusion embedded into the surface of the coin. I don't see any continuance of a corresponding design feature struck into the surface of the inclusion, however; for example, the continuance of Thomas' jaw line.

Interesting. I'll wait for the error experts here to respond.

I found this in a 2 dollar roll from the store and have been trying to upload a picture for weeks lol and Although it's a good picture it does lack the 3 demential effect needed to show that the metallic extra is lower then the face line so if it is infect a planchet error as there site suggested then perhaps it wouldn't have additional features like the die markings? I have no idea but a truly fun coin I must say it's head my brain twisting and turning for weeks. Notice the smaller piece of goldfish metal to the west south west. it's odd....

Looks to me like it may have been removed from a cuff link or tie clip mount?

I am not seeing design on top of the debris which leads me to post mint. Also what does the other side look like?

A look at the reverse as well as a full obverse will help with the diagnosis.

Yeah before I read the cuff link response, I thought "solder". Mainly because of the different metals. It looks like there is a smaller circular punch mark around the affected area as well.

Well what I can share that tge pgoto cant is the other metal is slightly below the device. I personally think ware for why its flat on top but the rest wouldnt be struck being below the device would it?

The flat area may have been sanded/planed down to make a flat surface to attach what they soldered to the coin. Just a spendable.

I think anything is possible but spendable is out of the question lol I love this coin regardless and being a 1959 is great condition is just a bonus. But I guess thats why they say one mans trash is another mans treasure
