My helped my neighbor fix his fence today and we talked about some coins he had saved. We looked at them and asked if I was interested.
25 rolls Lincoln wheats,
one roll 64 Kennedy halves silver,
1 roll 40% halves pre 1970
1 roll 64 Washington quarters, also 20 common Roosevelt dimes
1 roll under 63 Wa quarters with 1 1950-s near BU nice. Most are circulated.
A quart jar 3/4 full of Wa State aluminium tax tokens with hole in center
What would a LCS pay for silver for that amount by roll or each for an idea to offer him for the silver mainly? I would probably sell most of the common to them and go through the wheats and keep what I need.
His kids took all his gold coins and silver dollars 1909 s vdb

Thanks Gary

Sorry for not being up on values, but My newest coins books are from the 1970`s,

I dont have a coin shop close to me, so you folks are my eyes to the world of collecting coins. I just asked for what I could sell a roll of 64 kennedys, a roll of 40% kenedys, Circulated Wa Quarters. or the per coin value. 25 rolls of wheat cents from 1910-1958 alot of mint marked ones with little wear.

Thanks Gary

The '64 halves contain around $150 in silver..the quarters half that

The 40% halves contain a tad over $60 in silver...

I really doubt if a LCS will give you 100% spot...more likely 85-90% of spot.

Best bet is to find someone ebay saavy and sell them there where they are going for $175-198/roll for the 64's...even minus the fees you will make out better...

Just an opinion....

I should add that I would hang onto them and see if spot rebounds a bit....

Most dealers will pay a flat price for anything under AU that isn't a recognized key date. I helped sell some coins to a dealer back in December, and he offered 12x face for most of the silver and refused to buy common-date wheats for more than face.

I'd concur with Foxwoods that ebay is a much better option if he's looking to sell. You'll get a good price as long as somebody bites and starts a bidding war. I'd break it up by the roll and start very low to ensure a first bid... I've seen a roll of silver dimes go for over $250 (silver $20/oz) because the seller started the bid at 99 cents.

Thanks Foxwoods Man,
Thats what I was looking for. I was thinking of buying them to save and hope that silver increases.
Im not sure what someone would do with a few hundred Wa Tax tokens, Probably a hard sell.

I can save the Canadian loonies and toonies when I go up to Vancouver Is. fishing and give away the modern foreign to my grandson

Those tax tokens sold individually got anywhere from .50-$3...seemed to get less when bundled in groups greater than 4

Nice looking ones in flips $3-$5

I don't know much about them

So 30 dollars face value? As of right now 30 dollars face value of 90%silver is worth 448.50
10 dollar face value of 40% halves is like 61.72 assuming you have full rolls
