Got a half eagle. Not very good pictures but want to know if it's a small date or large date coin. Also what is the grade. I'm thinking VF. The reverse is pretty worn on the wings. Thanks

I'm thinking small date and VG to Fine. Don't think there is enough meat left on it to give it VF.

Here's a close up of the date area I found on PCGS Coinfacts.

I'm thinking F-12 to F-15 possibly.

It looks like yours is the small date, but very hard to tell. Did you get it figured out yet?

It's hard to tell from your photos but VG10-F12 looks about right.

The obv looks VF-20, and the reverse pics are too blurry/little to tell; but it could bring it down to F-15.

Yeah, pretty sure it's a small date. This is my co-workers coin. He might even read this this weekend. I took the photos with my iPhone, that's why they arnt that good. My co-worker recently got a few gold coins passed down in the family so he's a new collector. I turned him on to this forum "highly recomended". Hopefully he'll be sharing some of his nice coins with us in the near future!

The coin seems to be in the fine to low VF range.
