Interesting question. Quote: But there is nobody over here I can share my collection with, and discuss. Looks like you found a place. CCF

Quote: Another issue is of course the logistics of submitting coins, given my location. Being in Germany, just send them to NGC in München, and leave the rest to them. They charge a little for taking over the paper work and insurance thingys, but nothing outrageous. I used them and was very satisfied. Not sure if they have a walk in delivery/pick-up though, as PCGS has in Paris

I'm pretty sure it's going to be in a details slab :(
If it was one spot on the rim, you'd be okay but that's too many places IMHO.

I would NOT slab these coins, IMO. Old copper is best left raw and those who will shell out big bucks for these don't need them slabbed.

Another from the vault and a year I was waiting for from you based on what you've already shown. I would love to own copper like this and one day just might and purely for collection and historic purposes.
Beautiful Germanics
More please and thank you sir

Keep it raw! Plastic prisons are for those who don't know their coins as well as you do! Fantastic example, honest wear, Very Fine 25.

I would agree, keep it raw. I started a Dansco 7099 a while back and highly recommend it GERMANICVS :-)

Looks about F-15ish. A TPG will likely details it for the rim damage but overall the coins has very good eye appeal. It is a fantastic coin!

I agree it's great to see coins we all wish we owned. And to be able to discuss these coins with the owner and other members is one of the great things about the forum. Beautiful coin. My niece and I were looking at pre 1800 large cents in the $80.00 to $140.00 range and there's some nice examples on ebay. VG details to fine details with minor flaws. We sold one of her coins for $30.00 so I think I'll put the difference and get her one. Please continue to share your collection with us. It's posts like this that have her thinking pocket books and shoes are dumb when you can buy a nice coin instead.

mikey07nj It's great to read how you've been able to get your niece into coin collecting because young collectors represent the future of this hobby. Quote: It's posts like this that have her thinking pocket books and shoes are dumb when you can buy a nice coin instead. I must say this made me smile a bit as I think about my grand daughter. If you are successful in changing the thinking process of young women you should write the book that every man has been waiting for. The profits on that book would probably allow you to buy a million dollar 1793 Cent.
